This month in life and on the blog
If February was the month of stress then March was the month of illness 🙁 Suffered a flare up of my UC -IBD and then after all the auto-immune suppressing meds kicked in I was rewarded with the flu so safe to say I was fed up BUT I did manage to fit in some fun stuff below! 🙂
I celebrated Paddy’s Day for the first time in about 15 years! Soooo Patriotic…NOT! I got to go to my first Parade in Dublin which was sooo cool with my sister, brother in law and nephew and had a fab day watching all the floats and bands and after went to the carnival and convinced my sister to get up on the Ferris wheel! Can you see the fear in her eyes? 😉
I also got to spend time with friends in Dublin and got to help with some Wedding planning (no photos tho, it’s a secret!) but got rewarded with some awesomely lady-like Afternoon Tea and a night in my favourite Persian restaurant Zaytoons! YUM!
The sun came out which meant BEACH! So nice to get down there for walks! Ella and Gracie loved it and apparently like to eat sea vegetables…*shakes head*. Of course BEACH also means BATH which didn’t go down too well…
I got to have a fab girl’s night and play hostess to my friends which meant a lot of this…
Finally my niece is coming home in May to get christened!! Yay!!! Check her out with her snazzy Irish passport! We’ll let her be English in everything but Football! She has to cheer for Ireland in the football lol! 😉
Blog posts this month
- I asked IS IT ETHICAL TO REVIEW A BOOK YOU’VE BETA READ? Many thanks for all the insights I got with this one!
- I reviewed BE WITH ME by J. Lynn. The romance didn’t grab me as much as the secondary subject matter but I really liked this!
- I reviewed WAIT FOR YOU by J. Lynn. I loved every minute of this one! It was amazeballs!
- I reviewed MAROONED IN MANHATTAN by Sheila Agnew. Really fun MG fiction!
- I reviewed FRACTURED by Dani Atkins!Loved this one, so different and heartbreaking!
This month I got…
My first Rainbow Rowell and my first Cat Clarke!!
I’m really looking forward to both of these. I’ve heard FINDING JUNE is the type of NA I want to read i.e. none of the WTFery that drives me insane and HONOR AMONG ORCS sounds like a solid fantasy!
I love military stories and this one sounds amazing!
A Romeo and Juliet retelling and a fab sounding fantasy! Sold!
Not a lot of new releases this month, mostly books that have been on my wishlist for AGES and finally went on sale! Let me know if your thoughts if you’ve read any of these! 🙂
*apologies – no goodreads links for these, WordPress is being a douche this morning and I’d like to refrain from throwing my laptop out the window!!*
What did everyone else get?
