Monthly Round Up and Haul: The December Edition

January 4, 2014 weekly memes 52

Stacking the shelves and The Sunday Post
are memes where we share our news from the month and our book haul.

I usually do a weekend edition but I have decided to change things up and switch to a monthly round up!

This month in life and on the blog

  • My niece was born!!!! Hope Alice was born on the 4th December, weighing 6lbs 7oz! I’m hoping to get over to London in the next week or two for a weekend of niece snuggles! Cannot wait to meet her!!!
  • Christmas has come and gone. It was pretty good, quiet and it didn’t snow so bonus!
  • I changed my blog design! I wanted something that reflected “me” and I think this does. I like girly, pink, whimsical things and I think this fits the bill. What do you think?
  • I also decided to post blogging and reading resolutions! Do you have any of the same?

Okay I would like to point out that I am NOW on a book buying ban but I did take advantage of EVERY kindle deal in December so this is obscene but I did buy them all on sale (90% 1.99 or less) and had $40 of giftcards so don’t judge lol!

That’s it!

What did everyone else get?

My first question, How long did it take you to draft this?? 😛

There are a lot of books there I am excited you got AND some I am curious about! 🙂

YAY FOR BABY HOPE! She is the cutest, evah! I will be getting your package to you soon, when I am no longer broke, mm’kay? <3 you xoxo

  2. Chrissi Reads

Oh my goodness. What an amazing haul Danielle! I agree it must have taken you ages to draft this all. Congratulations on becoming an Auntie to little Hope! Happy Reading! (P.S I said on another comment how much I like your redesign, but I’ll say it again!)

    • Danielle

It took hours! Suitable punishment for going on a shopping spree lol! Thank you, I’m so excited about my new niece and so glad you like my new design! 🙂 x

  3. Jessica@Lovin' Los Libros

Dang. This had to have taken you forever to do! LOL. You got so many great books though! 🙂 I can’t wait for you to read so many of these! Congratulations on your baby niece! 🙂 That’s so exciting!

P.S.- Start reading these books soon. I want to see reviews! 😀

  4. Allura

I LOVE your new layout! Pink is my favorite color! Also, love your book haul – I think I squealed several times going through! I cannot WAIT for you to read some of these. xoxo

  5. Kara @ Great Imaginations

I also really love your new blog design. It’s so girly and I love the banner! Congratulations on your niece!

And uhhhh I hope you like Red better than I did. So many good looking books here! Red Rising, Grim, We Were Liars, Elusion, etc. I hope you enjoy them all!

    • Danielle

Thanks Kara!! Glad you like it! I can’t wait to read Red Rising, it’s up next. I still giggle about you and Ellis talking about him on Twitter! lol! x

  6. Tilly @ Hardcore Heroines

WOAAAH. You have a huge list, some of those books I’m extremely jealous of, some are soooo good and you just have to read soon.
The Fault in our Stars is ah-mazing, so good, but be prepared and put tissues by your reading spot! Wallbanger looks good, so does The Bone Season and everyone raves about The Goldfinch.
I’m currently reading Sweet Evil and really enjoying it, so I hope you do too.
Have fun getting through this list Danielle, looks like you’re going to be there some time! 😀

  7. Ciara @ Ciara Reads Books

Wow, congratulations on your niece! That’s so exciting! 😀

So many amazing books here like TFiOS & Shadow and Bone, as well as books that I’m dying to read! I bought Angelfall & The Bone Season over Christmas & can’t wait to read them. I really want to buy Gone Girl & The Madman’s Daughter but I’m banning myself from buying any more books until I read all the books I got for Christmas!

  8. Leanna

Ha! Who bought all the books!!! Okay, so Unearthly is AMAZING! As is Mara Dyer – but on that score half of the people I know HATE Noah Shaw and the other half LOVE him. I’m in love with the boy – I can’t wait to see what you think of him!

I love the new blog design. Love it, love it!

I’m hoping the same for We Were Liars – it is VERY hyped from what I’ve seen on Goodreads. Before We Met is pretty good but I was hoping for something more twisted – maybe that’s just me!

OMG – Gone Girl is amazing! I love that book! Okay, you got way too many books for me to comment on every one of them! :-p

    • Danielle

Haha thanks! Glad you like the new layout! 🙂 So glad you love Unearthly because I’m super excited to read that and I’m intrigued about Noah!! I’ll have to get to Mara Dyer soon, I adore the cover!

  9. Octavia

Sweet goodness you had one heck of a month! I’m crazy jealous of all of your fabulous books and I’m tapping my foot and making impatient noises until you read Angelfall! READ. IT! I read Rule a while back and really liked it. There were moments that annoyed me but overall it was a really good book!

Congrats on your new niece and fabulous design!

    • Danielle

Yes Angelfall will be read before…March at least! Reading Rule this weekend so hoping I’ll like it but we tend to like the same NA’s so it should be okay! 😉

  10. Alyssa Susanna (The Eater of Books!)

Ugh, I can’t even O_O This is why I can’t do monthly STS posts… there is wayyy too much to gather together, and look at. *steps back* *squints*

DEFY! I loved Defy. I recently read and reviewed and loved it. I have an eARC of the USA version of The Falconer, and cannot wait to read it. I LOVED Bitter Sweet Love – amazing novella. Jasinda Wilder has some amazing books! I haven’t read one since Wounded. Rossi and Hodkin’s books are amazing! I recently read, reviewed, and enjoyed Into the Still Blue. *sighs contentedly*

    Have a fabulous weekend!

    Check out my STS post!

    • Danielle

I know…I went a tad overboard lol! So glad you liked Defy! I’m excited to read it and The Falconer is so enjoyable so far! Thanks so much for commenting Alyssa! I love your blog!

  11. Leigh @ Little Book Star

Wow girlie, what a book haul! I hope you enjoy them all. I also got Incarnate, Crewel, TFIOS, Elusion, Don’t You Forget About Me, Mind Games, Under the Never Sky, and Legend. I didn’t really like Alice in Zombieland b/c it had little to no reference to Alice in Wonderland. Happy reading. 🙂

    Little Book Star

    • Danielle

Thank you! That’s a shame about Alice in Zombieland, I assumed it would! :-/ Hopefully I’ll like it. Thanks for stopping by!
